Description
For rising 9th graders – graduated seniors in high school.
Let’s refine our knowledge of musical “building blocks” together! Are you a high school musician who has some “holes” in your knowledge about musical notation? Want to sharpen your music-reading skills, learn about chords and musical forms, and fill-in-your gaps? This class is for you! Join West high school director of bands and music theory instructor Kevin Rhodes as we have fun exploring and expanding our mastery of music theory together!
Topics explored include basic notation (rhythm, pitch) and dictation (you listen, you write it down), basic chord analysis, scales and modes, sight-singing, and composition.
